LAMPI NELLA NOTTE

«Lampi nella Notte», a photographic and documentary exhibition organized by the Istituto Storico Sannio Telesino and the University of Oklahoma, is not just a photo exhibition, but a collective memory project that restores dignity to the history of the Telesina Valley during World War II. Through archival photographs, the exhibition recounts a landscape scarred by war, transforming locations into vivid protagonists of historical storytelling. The installation, conceived as a sensory and narrative experience, guides visitors on an emotional and immersive journey—where images are not merely observed, but lived.

The Exhibition

«Lampi nella Notte» is a photographic exhibition that recounts a pivotal chapter in the history of the Telesina Valley. Through vintage images, it retraces the events of October 1943, when the 45th U.S. Division advanced through the Sannio region, liberating it from Nazi-Fascist occupation.

A Journey Through Memory

The exhibition offers an immersive and well-documented experience, allowing visitors to relive those dramatic and pivotal days. It is a visual journey that weaves together local history and collective memory, giving voice to the places and faces of a past that must not be forgotten.

The Values

Beyond its historical significance, «Lampi nella Notte» is a tribute to the universal principles of peace and freedom. An invitation to reflect on the past in order to understand the present and build a more conscious future.
